Preparation and Performance Study of Carboxy-Functionalized Graphene Oxide Composite Polyaniline Modified Water-Based Epoxy Zinc-Rich Coatings

Graphene oxide is obtained by oxidation of graphite followed ultrasonic exfoliation. It a two-dimensional layered material with large number oxygen-containing functional groups on its surface. Polyaniline conductive polymer and has unique corrosion protection mechanism. In this study, carboxy-functionalized graphene oxide/polyaniline (CGO/PANI) composites lamellar structure were prepared in situ polymerization. The layer was used to form labyrinthine the coating effectively retard penetration corrosive media. electrical conductivity polyaniline can promote formation pathways between zinc particles improve utilization powder. also able passivate substrate, further improving coating’s ability protect steel substrates against corrosion. paper, polymerization aniline flakes confirmed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), improvement resistance epoxy zinc-rich coatings evaluated SEM, electrochemical impedance (EIS), salt spray tests. results showed that successfully polymerized oxide, modified had significantly improved anticorrosive properties, where best achieved when CGO: PANI = 0.03.
